Prospective Graduate Students

We are always looking for bright, motivated students to join our lab group in pursuit of the MSc in Biology at IUP. I am interested in students who are hard-working and self-motivated, and particularly those who have the goal of continuing on with doctoral studies. I encourage interested students to visit my Research  and Publications pages, as well as the IUP Graduate Admissions Page, before contacting me directly. If you think you are a good fit in our Lab, please send me a CV and short statement of interest that describes who you are, your research interests, and why you think pursuing an MSc in Biology is the best move for you.

Prospective International Students

The Townsend Lab is dedicated to providing research and educational opportunities for international students. If you are a prospective graduate student from Honduras, Central America, or another country, please review the IUP International Graduate Admissions Page and contact me to start a dialog about pursuing your studies at IUP and in the United States.

Prospective Undergraduate Researchers

IUP is an institute that emphasizes providing opportunities for undergraduates to gain research experience while working towards their degrees. Students with an interest in herpetology, biodiversity conservation, or tropical ecology are encouraged to contact me and discuss opportunity in my laboratory. Ongoing and potential projects in my lab can provide an excellent basis for developing an Honors Thesis project for students in IUP's Cook Honors College as well as the Biology Honors Program.
